Rooting is the process by which user regain administrative access to android phone.

Even though Android is an open source operating system user still don’t have full “root access” to do what user please. Rooting Android phone enables you to use the superuser, or root, permissions of the Linux-based operating system

I rooted my brand new Galaxy Note with clockworkmod recovery. It worked like  slicing a butter ! I’m more used to this approach as I did it with my previous HTC-HD2.

Note, this is Galaxy ‘Phablet’ !

When I saw Samsung Galaxy-Note for the first time, this is what I felt – Vivid. Thin. Big. Fast. It’s a breed between between smartphone and a tablet. I ensured, no delay in owning one !

Samsung calls it “a new kind of smartphone“, gizmo world calls it – “a Phablet” ! All I wanted was  freedom from multiple devices.

Samsung has defied all those unwritten rules and carved a new segment of whopping 5.3-inch Super AMOLED HD display + 1280X800 resolution making the device much wider and taller than any conventional smartphone !

Here’s the size comparison v/s iPhone-4.  The screen of the Galaxy-Note is even bigger than the entire body of the iPhone-4. It’s thin, light weight, with big beautiful screen.

Under the hood, the Galaxy-Note features a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, which keeps things moving at pace paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage plus the strong 2500mAh battery to prolong Galaxy-Note experience.

My favorite feature in Galaxy-Note is s-pen Stylus. I design interfaces & do lot of design sketches, wireframing etc., s-pen Stylus comes real handy in that case. Not to forget, I’m a doodle-freak and now this is a fantastic creative companion :)

What if some one reading your Gmail secretly ?

Other day, my home internet connection went for a toss . And had to send an emergency mail. So obvious choice was next door cyber cafe. Been there and done that.

Voila ! what a rude shock ! Next day, when I accessed Gmail at office, I got a notification that, my Gmail ID was used to create a Facebook & some other accounts. What the heck ? I never created new Facebook profile in last two days. Then who did what with my login credentials ?

Crux was, some one got hold of my Gmail password after my cyber cafe browsing episode and tried to impersonate me. Isn’t it dangerous when you’ve bank-statements, important documents, spreadsheets & Picasa photos are under one Gmail hood ?

I started sensing the dangers of ‘virtual world’ ! I’ve read a lot about people  got hacked with their accounts and I never thought one day, I would be the victim of it !

I went paranoid after that incident, which is obvious when you’ve have highly sensitive information is stored in Gmail.I access Gmail in variety of devices. I don’t remember, how many times I’ve changed my password.

That being said, mine is a solid use-case for Google to come with a novel ‘extra level of security’ that I’ve seen often in Banking sites and corporate authentication. That’s why Google is the most trusted partner by many who have their vulnerable & highly sensitive information stored in Gmail servers.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: v3

First game  has landed at door-step to rock my new PS3 console. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the 2011 release in the best-selling Call of Duty First-Person Shooter action series.

The game is a direct sequel to the previous game in the series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with a campaign storyline continuing the struggle of U.S. forces against an invasion by the Russian Federation following the framing of an undercover U.S. agent in a terrorist attack on Moscow.

Along with classic Call of Duty multi-character control, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 contains deep multi-player support, including two-player Co-op Survival mode.

I just can’t imagine life without these freeware application in my windows laptop. As of now I’m using Windows Vista 32bit OS in my home laptop. Some of the free Softwares are helping me cut short time and work. Might be helpful for you too !
